General Information
Electric bikes add power to your pedal power enabling you to go places previously out of reach, and to do more with a bicycle and have more fun!
The electric bikes will provide you with assist up to around 35kmp/h. There are some, called speed pedelecs, that will assist you up to around 60 kmp/h, but you need to be providing a significant amount of your own pedal power to get to that top speed.
The intent of an electric bicycle is to be very similar to a conventional bicycle and that includes the speed that it can travel. If eBikes provided higher power assisted speeds then they would be regulated like a scooter/motorcycle which requires registration, licencing, insurance, etc. In addition, this would limit where eBikes can be ridden. Bicycles and electric bicycles are great vehicles because they do not require registration, licencing or insurance, and there are so many places they can be ridden.
Our e-bikes have a range of around 30 kilometres which depends on the riding conditions (hills, headwinds, etc.), how much pedal power you are providing, and how much weight you are moving (yourself + cargo).
Our bikes have a 750 watt Bafang rear hub motor. 750 watts is the maximum power to still be a considered a bicycle and that equates to 1 horsepower.
Absolutely! You decide how much exercise you want to get by adjusting the power assist level on the bike.
Our e-bikes weigh 32 kilograms
We recommend a 13 year old minimum age requirement. And expect that you can adequately ride a standard mountain bike.
Preparation
- Hat (This is to be worn under the helmet so please bring a small hat such as a cap or floppy round hat, top-hats are a tight fit with a helmet)
- Layered clothes appropriate for cycling (Comfortable sneakers, shorts for hot weather, long pants for colder weather, a wind breaker if desired, please check the weather)
- Sun block (SPF 50)
- Sunglasses
- Camera or cell phone (Please bear in mind that you will have to carry the camera in the back pack provided so make sure its small/light)

Tours which are pre-booked can be cancelled up to 3 days before the tour date, thereafter no refunds will be issued.

The tours are weather dependant, if the weather is ominous you will receive a full refund and re-booking at your convenience
Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and they allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours.
